About The CRC

The Community Resource Council is an active alliance of agencies and individuals with a commitment to promoting the health and well-being of the people of Bergen County, New Jersey.

The HELPLINE Service, one of our major programs, is the ONLY free, comprehensive, confidential and computerized county-wide information and referral service guiding those in need of assistance to the resources available. Information is provided on a number of services: health care for senior citizens, drug and alcohol counseling, help for the disabled, unemployment assistance, services for working parents, legal and financial assistance, emergency food and shelter, and much more. The HELPLINE database contains information on more than 2,500 health and human service resources and programs available to those who live or work in Bergen County.

The HELPLINE Service responded to between 15,000 to 20,000 calls last year from professionals and the public representing all 70 Bergen County municipalities. The CRC HELPLINE Service is part of AIRS, the Alliance of Information and Referral Services and has access to other Helplines on both the state and national level. We can also help you help friends and family beyond Bergen County!
